What is an Alphabet Bet?

An Alphabet bet is one of the most complicated of the bets. It has 6 different selections and is a combination bet made up of 2 Patents, a full cover Yankee and finally for good measure is a six-fold accumulator.

Therefore an “Alphabet bet” is 26 separate accumulator bets. Two Patents at 7 bets each, a Yankee bet with 11 bets and the single accumulator adding 1 last bet.

If your selections were labelled from 1 to 6 the formation of these separate cover bets would be, a Patent formed of selections 1, 2 and 3. A second Patent made up of selections 4, 5 and 6. A Yankee formed from selections 2, 3, 4 and 5.

And finally the six-fold accumulator consisting of all 6 of your picks.

It is also worth noting that selections 2, 3, 4 and 5 should be the biggest bankers in your selections, as they feature in more bets than selections 1 and 6.

Now to calculate an Alphabet all that needs to be done is to add the 2 Patents, Yankee and accumulator together.

This is how the final formula looks:

(1 + 1)(2 + 1)(3 + 1) – 1 +
(4 + 1)(5 + 1)(6 + 1) – 1 +
(2 + 1)(3 + 1)(4 + 1)(5 + 1) – (2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 1) +
1 * 2 * 3 * 4 * 5 * 6

An alphabet multiple is not very popular and isn’t offered by most online bookmakers. But this should not be a problem if you really wanted to place this type of bet.

Why?

Well an alphabet multiple bet is a combination of 3 very popular exotic multiples that are offered at nearly every bookmaker. So all you need to do is place 4 different bets as illustrated above. 🙂
